There will be a “Mardi Gras Second Chance Prom” held on April 18 from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the 38 Special Event Center in Wilton, Iowa. Tickets may be purchased for $10 before the dance by contacting Tracy Graves, at 910-554-4225, or Caitlin Skipton, at 563-260-2168, and will also be for sale at the door.
There has been some confusion over whether MCC activity All Kinds of People (AKOP) is sponsoring the event. According to MCC Dean of Students Shelly Cram-Rahlf, “AKOP is not sponsoring a dance. A few members who happen to be part of the organization are hosting it.”
According to MCC Psychology instructor and AKOP adviser Paula Finch, “AKOP can sponsor this event; however, it is being sponsored by two individuals and a business in Wilton, Iowa.” “The dance is being sponsored by AKOP President Tracy Graves and AKOP member Caitlin Skipton.”
Although a portion of the proceeds will go to AKOP, it is unclear how much of the proceeds AKOP will actually receive.
